The press service of the Uzbek ministry said that the sides considered priority issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNESCAP, largest territorial structure of the United Nations. The sides paid attention to perspective directions of interactions, focused on regional development.

It was noted that the sides are interested in expanding relations in transport, information-communication technologies, tourism, trade and investments, environment protection, and social development.

Navoi free industrial and economic zone, which was created in 2008 and located in one of industrial regions of Uzbekistan, as well as crossroads of automobile, railway and aviation communication of Uzbekistan and Central Asia, provide new opportunities for cooperation.

Noeleen Heyzer underlined great interest in Tashkent conference “Training educated and intellectual developed generation – as important conditions for sustainable development and modernization of the country”.

At the meeting, the sides considered other issues of cooperation of Uzbekistan and the UNESCAP.
