Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The task of implementing government mobile communications was transferred to UMS. The company will also work on creation and development of a data processing center for provision of state electronic services, Uzbekistan 24 TV channel reported.

On the basis of UMS, it is planned to create a unified national information system for project management, UzChat messenger and blockchain solutions for the public sector. At the moment, work is underway to develop a concept for development of the company for 2019–2021 in conjunction with the National Project Management Agency (NAPU). The document is expected to be the basis for strategic development of mobile communications and digital services in the country.

According to the company’s commercial director, Lola Filatova, tariff plans for government mobile communications will be launched before the end of December, and government employees will be gradually connected to them.

One of the features of government communications will be UzChat messenger with cryptographic data protection, which is developed by NAPU. As reported in the program, it supports all the functions of modern instant messengers, including voice and video calls, and allows to organize group video conferences with a maximum number of users of 256 people. Also, the messenger will have a desktop (computer) version.

The protection of the transmitted data, voice and video communication will be based on cryptographic methods and all data will be stored on the server in an encrypted form that the administrators of the program will not have access to.

The introduction of UzChat is expected to increase the efficiency of information exchange between civil servants.

From 1 April 2019, government mobile communications will become mandatory for employees of government agencies and diplomatic missions abroad. Its first users will be employees of the National Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs.
