Umar Bozorov triumphs at the Grand Slam Tournament
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The prestigious Grand Slam judo tournament has concluded in Tbilisi, Georgia, with Uzbekistan once again demonstrating its high level in the sport.
In the highly competitive under-90 kg weight category, which featured Olympic and World Championship medalists, Uzbekistan’s own Umar Bozorov clinched the gold medal.
In the final match, he secured victory over French judoka Alexis Mathieu, showcasing impressive technique and a determined fighting spirit.
As a result, the Uzbekistan national team wrapped up the tournament with one gold and two bronze medals.
Earlier, on the first day of the competition, Azizbek Ortikov and Abdurakhim Nutfullaev claimed bronze medals in the under-66 kg category.
