Ulugbek Rashitov Suspended for Two Years for Anti-Doping Rule Violations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Two-time Olympic taekwondo champion from Uzbekistan, Ulugbek Rashitov, has been suspended from competition for two years due to violations of anti-doping rules. The decision was officially announced by the International Testing Agency (ITA).

According to the agency’s statement, Rashitov failed to provide accurate whereabouts information three times within a 12-month period, which is considered a violation of the anti-doping code. The athlete admitted to the infractions and accepted the imposed sanctions. The suspension took effect on 13 May 2025, and will remain in force until 12 May 2027. All individual results achieved by Rashitov between 3 February and 12 May 2025, will be annulled.

The athlete has the right to appeal the decision to the Appeals Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

He won gold medals at the Tokyo 2021 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games and was recognized as the world’s best taekwondo athlete of the international season.
