Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Two-time Olympic champion in WT taekwondo, Ulugbek Rashitov, has been named the best taekwondo athlete in the world for 2024.

The award was presented to the Uzbek athlete during the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Hong Kong.

The winner of this prestigious title was determined through a global vote.

This achievement marks a historic milestone for Uzbek sports, as it is the first time an Uzbek taekwondo athlete has received such a prestigious global recognition.

Prior to this, no representative from Uzbekistan had ever been honored with such a distinction by the World Taekwondo Federation.
