Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ulugbek Kosimov has been approved for the post of khokim of Surkhandarya region.

A meeting of the Council of People’s Deputies of Surkhandarya region was held in Termez. It is attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The meeting discussed the organizational issue. Based on the opinions expressed by regional activists, the president recommended the candidacy of Ulugbek Kasimov for the post of khokim of Surkhandarya region. Prior to that, he worked as the acting khokim of the region.

The candidate’s plans to provide employment and increase the income of the population of the region, develop agriculture and industry, and solve existing problems in the social sphere were heard and discussed.

Then the issue of appointing the khokim of Surkhandarya region was put to the vote. According to the voting results, Ulugbek Kasimov was approved as the khokim of Surkhandarya region.

Based on the plans and proposals presented at the meeting, the President of Uzbekistan set tasks for the new khokim and officials for the further development of the region.
