Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine imposed sanctions against the Uzbek company Foton.

Vladimir Zelensky signed a corresponding decree, limiting the assets of 181 individuals and 185 legal entities, including the Foton electronics plant and its director Marifhodzh Saidumarov.

Restrictions include asset freezes and trade blocking. The sanctions were imposed for 10 years.

The Foton plant produces microcircuits and electrical products.

Uzbekistan began the process of privatization of the plant in July 2023.
