UK-Uzbek Trade meeting to take place in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- More than twenty British companies will attend UBTIC meeting to discuss current and prospective business projects with their Uzbek counterparts, the UK Embassy in Tashkent said.

The 19th annual meeting of the Uzbek-British Trade and Industry Council (UBTIC) will take place on 25 October in Tashkent.

Rt. Hon. Peter Lilley MP, Co-Chairman of UBTIC will lead the UK trade delegation of more than twenty companies representing different sectors of British business. Uzbek and British partners will discuss current and prospective business projects and investment opportunities across a range of fields in Uzbekistan’s economy.

UBTIC is the main forum for promoting the development of trade and investment relations between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom. A key objective of the UBTIC meeting was to take business links between our countries to a new level, and to increase awareness of business opportunities in both countries.

UBTIC was established under a bilateral agreement in 1994, under the umbrella of the British Government's overseas trade and investment organisation (UKTI). UBTIC supports and assists UK businesses currently operating or wishing to operate or to invest in Uzbekistan. UBTIC meetings are held annually, alternately in Tashkent and London. Currently, UBTIC Co-Chairmen are: Rt. Hon. Peter Lilley MP for the British side and Mr. Elyor Ganiev, Minister for Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade of Uzbekistan for the Uzbek side.
