The delegation was received by the Department on protection of human rights and legal guarantees of the Interior Ministry lieutenant colonel I.Turgunov. He said that the UK is traditional partner of Uzbekistan in the European continent. He added that two countries established warm and friendly relations in many areas, including interaction within the law enforcement bodies.
Turgunov briefed the delegation about structure, goals and tasks of the Department on protection of human rights and legal guarantees. The department’s efforts are directed to protecting human rights and interests of population of Uzbekistan.
In his turn, Toni Williams expressed gratitude for warm welcome and confidence for further interaction and strengthening of bilateral relations. The British diplomat was interested in makhalla institute, work of inspectors, etc. The sides also discussed issues on exchange of staff of law enforcement bodies, organize various events and other issues of mutual interest.
