Currently, UCell is one of dynamic growing operators in Uzbekistan’s mobile market and the landmark figure is the result of active work of company in competitive market, the company said in a statement.
Oguz Memuguven, director-general of UCell, said that subscription of the 8 millionth subscriber is important event for us. “Our task is to ensure quality of communication and interesting services, so subscribers were satisfied. We have wide coverage zone, advanced technologies and readiness to list clients for this. The fact that subscribers today select UCell is evidence for correctness of path, which we follow.”
It is worth to mention that subscriber base of UCell made up 7 million in 2010, which increased by 42% year-on-year.
In 2007-2010, total volume of investments of the company to development of network in Uzbekistan reached US$600 million. This allowed the operator to construct one of the most development mobile communication network. Currently, UCell has over 2,000 basic stations, which ensure quality radio coverage in all regions of Uzbekistan.
Currently, UCell actively develops 3G network in Uzbekistan and it is leader on number of basic stations and coverage area of 3G network. The company stated it is planning to develop 3G and 4G technologies in Uzbekistan. As earlier reported, UCell launched 4G network in test mode in middle of 2010.
The operator also pays special attention to development of mobile broadband Internet. The operator offers 3G-modems, Android-based smartphones, tablet PC, special tariff plans, packages.
FE Coscom LLC was founded in 1996. As of June 2008, the company began rendering services of mobile communication under the UCell brand.
