Ucell said that “TeliaSonera statement said that in connection with intention of the Group to sell its operations in the Eurasian region, these operations, including Ucell, will be reported as discontinued operations on separate lines both in the consolidated income statement and consolidated statements of financial position for the fourth quarter and full year 2015.

In the result, according to IFRS reporting, TeliaSonera should change method of evaluation of the Eurasian assets. In the result, operating income in the fourth quarter 2015 will be impacted by a non-cash impairment charge of 5.3 billion Swedish krona (US$620 million) related to the operations in Uzbekistan.

TeliaSonera will continue its operations in the Eurasian market and will remain as a shareholder in mobile operations of the region till it sells its assets.

The statement was misinterpreted by some foreign mass media. Ucell underlined that all above mentioned only is connected with change of financial reporting methodology and will not impact strategy, investment and activities of Ucell.
