UCell team successful complete ascent to the highest point of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Team of FE COSCOM LLC (providing its services under UCell brand), the second mobile operator in Uzbekistan and the Federation of extreme and mountaineering tourism of Uzbekistan has completed a successful ascent to the highest point of the country.

Of particular importance to this event is the fact that this summit was reached for the first time in the history of independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan. And now at the altitude of over 4640 meters the national flag of our motherland is proudly fluttering.

Taking into account the importance of this event, UCell fully funded the expedition and was its co-organizer. On 3 June 2010, a group of six brave climbers - UCell employees Vladimir Kirillov, Dmitry Skripnik and Ekaterina Bushkina and climbers Alexander Osipov, Dimitris Harmanis and Andrei Zubarev from the Federation of extreme and mountaineering tourism in Uzbekistan began their journey. The summit was reached on 9 June.

According to information from the State Inspectorate of Geodesic Control, the highest point of Uzbekistan is located in Sariasiya district of Surkhandarya region. It is a nameless mountain, part of the Gissar range. And it is the peak the climbers have ascended. Preparations are under way for giving an appropriate name to the peak.

Climbers have also placed UCell flag on the summit in recognition of the company’s contribution to the development of economy and support to sports in Uzbekistan. On the second anniversary of UCell brand, celebrated on 16 June, its flag flaps on the highest peak of the country.

“This expedition is like UCell’s development in the mobile market of Uzbekistan. And it shows that there is nothing impossible for us on our way to the top. – Mr. Oguz Memiguven, UCell CEO said. – We strive to work in such a way, so that UCell subscribers could be proud of the company they have chosen as their mobile operator.”

The ascent was not easy. On the way there were 15 kilometers of walk, 5 kilometers of the glacier, complex weather conditions, and a difficult route. But despite all the difficulties, the expedition took place without incidents, according to the plan. Its result will surely become one of the outstanding achievements in the history of modern mountaineering in Uzbekistan.

"This ascent is a tribute of honor to independent Uzbekistan. - said Vladimir Kirillov, leader of UCell team. - Our climbers have again confirmed their high position and strengthened the prestige of the country, raising the national flag on the highest peak. "

The ascent to the highest point of the country is a very important matter of the country’s prestige, geographical science and the development of sports. Without a doubt, this event will reinforce Uzbekistan’s position among the countries with high authority in sports, in particular in the field of mountaineering and mountain tourism. The ascent will create interest to the Republic of Uzbekistan as a country with its own climbing base, the development of international mountaineering and investment in the development of sports and tourism in the country.

It should be noted that the ascent was committed to the top of a mountain in an inaccessible area, which represents a climbing and geographical interest. This expedition investigated a state of the mountain region to lay ground to the future visits by other climbers and tourists. Along the ascent, additional researches were made, namely reconnaissance of the mountain, making its map, identifying the routes to top, clearly established position, photography of the area.

UCell is proud to contribute to country’s development and such sport as mountain climbing as it pushes the boundaries of human capabilities and requires maximum concentration of physical, spiritual and intellectual forces.
