Ucell Invests in Intellectual Potential of Uzbekistan’s Youth
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The opening ceremony of an upgraded GSM-laboratory was held at Tashkent University of Information Technologies. This is a new project on University technological basis modernization, that was implemented within the framework of cooperation with Ucell company.

Cooperation program between Ucell and Tashkent University of Information Technologies was signed in 2009. The GSM-laboratory was handed over to the University with financial and technical support of Ucell the same year and it has been granted a new life recently by opening up modern opportunities for students, in terms of technologies. The time, Ucell has granted the latest mobile technologies of third and fourth generations. Combining theory with practice is an important factor of successful educational process, which must be up-to-date in order to correspond to modern professional standards. Thus, students while studying at the University can already apply in practice the theoretical skills of network construction and calls routing by operating with three standards of technology: 2G, 3G, and 4G.

In the framework of the cooperation, Ucell has organized a number of seminars and lectures with experienced professionals in telecommunication field that shared their experience and knowledge with the TUIT students. This initiative will continue in the future as well. Similar GSM-laboratories are already successfully functioning in Azerbaijan and Moldova, thanks to close cooperation with Azercell and Moldcell respectively – both companies being a part of TeliaSonera group.

Khakim Mukhitdinov, rector of TUIT, commented the event:
“TUIT is one of the biggest universities which educates and trains more than 10 thousand young citizens of the country. The University’s branches in Karshi, Samarkand, Ferghana, Nukus, and Urgench are also successful. Fruitful cooperation with Ucell Company has significantly strengthened technical capacity of our university. Students enthusiastically participate in classes conducted at the GSM-laboratory. I would like to specifically emphasize the importance of facilities created for students in order to receive valuable knowledge. This year, thanks to Ucell’s support, students of TUIT’s Urgench branch will start studying in a new and modern building, which meets all the quality standards. I am confident that the long-term cooperation experience with Ucell contributes to the development of education process in the sphere of telecommunications and the company helps with the training of qualified specialists for Uzbekistan”.

Erik Hallberg, Executive Vice President and Head of Region Eurasia commented the event:
“We are really happy that Uzbekistan is achieving significant successes in carrying out educational reforms. Operating in the national market, Ucell Company alongside with providing quality mobile communication strives for investing in the country intellectual potential growth.
