Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 July 2009 UCell (a trademark of the FE COSCOM LLC) became the number two mobile operator in Uzbekistan in terms of number of subscribers according to the information from the Uzbek Agency of Communication and Information.

UCell became No. 2 with more than 4.3 million subscribers as of end of June. Accordingly, UCell’s subscriber market share is estimated to be close to 30 percent.

Its growth is led by innovation and state-of-the-art technologies, new tariffs and services as well as a new improved network with significantly increased coverage and capacity.

UCell plays an important role in development of Uzbekistan economy and during the past year-and-a-half UCell has invested around US$300 million into Uzbekistan. In addition, being one of the largest companies in Uzbekistan, UCell makes timely payment of all taxes and duties, thus promoting the budget of the country.

Charity and social responsobility have always been one of the important areas of the company strategy. Supporting culture, education and socially deprived people is very important for UCell. There are numbers of well-known social projects made by UCell, such as caring for schools, universities, theaters and children with oncological diseases.
