Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 November, the 27th meeting of the Uzbek-British Trade and Industry Council (UBTIC) began in London.

The meeting is chaired by Badriddin Abidov, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Malcolm Offord, Deputy Secretary of State for the UK Parliament and Minister for Exports.

Participants of the meeting discussed and supported proposals to expand the range of Uzbek export goods to the UK and deepen investment cooperation.

Panel sessions were held during the event on topics such as attracting and using finance, education, the textile industry, transportation, digital technologies, and outsourcing business processes.

During the meeting, a joint "Roadmap" was signed to expand Uzbek-British economic, trade, and investment relations, as well as several agreements and memoranda on the practical implementation of the agreements reached.

Over the past five years, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the UK has more than doubled, reaching US$315 million in the first ten months of this year.

In Uzbekistan, there are 273 enterprises with British participation, including 162 joint ventures and 111 with entirely British capital.
