Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Karakalpakstan, two people died as a result of a collision between Labo and Lacetti cars on the 4P-176 highway, two more needed hospitalization.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic, the tragedy occurred on Monday, 12 June, at about 14:30 on the section between the 43rd and 44th kilometers of the 4Р-176 highway "Nukus - Chimbay - Tukhtakupyr". The Labo brand car was moving from Nukus to Chimbay district, when Lacetti was driving in the opposite direction from Karauzyak district. The driver of the second car lost control, jumping into the oncoming lane, which is why the collision occurred.

As a result, the driver of Labo and one of the passengers of Lacetti died at the scene of the accident. The driver and minor passenger of the second car were taken to the medical association of the Kegeyli region.

On the fact of the accident, the investigation department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Karakalpakstan opened a criminal case under paragraph "a" of part 3 of article 266 "Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of vehicles" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Preliminary investigations are underway.
