Two New Border Crossing Points Open Between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 10 August at 6:00 a.m., two new border crossing points will begin operating on the Uzbekistan–Tajikistan border — “Bekabad Auto” in Tashkent region and “Khavasobod” in Syrdarya region. They will serve passenger vehicles and citizens of third countries.
The openings are part of an intergovernmental agreement between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
For reference, since 18 June, 24-hour operations have been introduced at several checkpoints on the Uzbekistan–Kyrgyzstan border, including “Vodil” and “Ak-Giya” in the Ferghana region, leading to the Shahimardan enclave, as well as “Chashma” on the route to the Sokh district. This measure aims to simplify travel for citizens and reduce queues.
