Abdurasul Juraboev from Uzbekistan and Akhror Saidakhmetov of Kazakhstan were arrested in New York, when they were attempting to fly to Turkey on their way to Syria.
Abror Habibov, 30, of Uzbekistan, was accused of helping to fund Saidakhmetov’s efforts to join the IS in Syria, prosecutors said. Habibov paid for Saidakhmetov’s plane ticket and promised him additional funds, according to the complaint.
Islamic State captured significant territories of Iraq and Syria and became main global threat in 2014. According to CIA, the IS has over 30,000 militants and created caliphate in captured territories.
