Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan lifted restrictions on the operation of social networks Twitter, Vkontakte and the WeChat messenger.
“From today on the territory of our country, unhindered access to the social networks Twitter, WeChat and Vkontakte is fully resumed,” the press service of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan said in a statement.
“Negotiations with the TikTok platform are ongoing, their results will be announced later. Lockdowns only harm development,” the agency notes.
The press secretary of the head of state, Sherzod Asadov, noted that attempts to isolate the information space and impede the pluralism of opinions do not serve the progress of society, but, on the contrary, hold it back - an indisputable fact.
