Turkmenistan to raise gas production up to 230 bn cubic meter by 2030
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Turkmenistan is planning to increase gas production up to 230 billion cubic meters by 2010, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan Soltan Pirmuhamedov told journalists on 1 December 2010.

Soltan Pirmuhamedov added that Turkmenistan will export up to 180 billion cubic meters of gas out of 230 billion cubic meters.

Turkmen envoy said that Turkmenistan is modernizing internal gas pipeline to increase export volumes. The project is implemented due to own resources of the country, he added.

According to Pirmuhamedov, currently Turkmenistan has gas pipelines to Iran (three lines), Russia and China. He recalled that Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline has been commissioned last December. He added that there is also agreement among Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan on construction of Caspian gas pipeline.

Soltan Pirmuhamedov stated that Turkmenistan also can supply gas via Nobucco pipeline if there is acceptable prices and no politics.

Envoy said that Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India are planning to adopt decision in December 2010 about launch of construction of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline.
