Turkiye prepares for second round of presidential elections

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Turkiye is preparing to hold a second round of presidential elections on 28 May, as none of the candidates managed to overcome the 50 percent barrier in the first round of voting held on Sunday.

Incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan won 49.42 percent of votes, according to unofficial voting results released on Monday by the semi-official Anadolu Agency, while his rival Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu received 44.95 percent of votes. The total number of registered ballots was 99.38%.

For the third presidential candidate Sinan Ogan received 5.2 percent of votes, Anadolu reports.
