Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ancient objects of cultural heritage, architectural and archaeological monuments of Surkhandarya region are of great interest to the world community. With the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, a meeting was organized between representatives of one of the leading travel companies in Turkiye - "Uchbey turizm" and officials of the khokimiyat of Surkhandarya region.

During the negotiations, information was given about pilgrimages, scientists and their scientific heritage in Surkhandarya region. The possibilities of a tourist destination of pilgrimage were presented, including the complexes "Imam Abu Isa Muhammad at-Tirmizi", "Al-Hakim at-Tirmizi", "Khojamaykhana", "Sufi Olloyar", "Khojaipok ata" and "Sultan Saodat".

Attention was paid to establishing interaction between travel companies of Surkhandarya region and the Turkish side, preparing and distributing scientific brochures, videos and other promotional materials about the possibilities of the tourism potential of the region.

Hulusi Gulseren, the head of Uchbey turizm, said that Turkish tourists are very interested in pilgrimage sites in Samarkand and Bukhara, as well as in Surkhandarya.

“The development of joint tour packages, including a pilgrimage to the mausoleums of Sufi feasts and sheikhs in Surkhandarya along with the settlements of the Seven Pir in Bukhara, will give good results,” Khulusi Gulseren said.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on the preparation of propaganda materials in Turkish and distribution among potential pilgrims regarding the objects of pilgrimage tourism in Surkhandarya, as well as on ensuring the participation of representatives of the region in exhibitions in Turkiye.
