Türkiye donates 3D printer to Uzbekistan to modernize jewelry manufacturing

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 24 February to 1 March, the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in collaboration with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), organized training seminars featuring leading Turkish experts in the jewelry and glass industries.

During the visit, specialists not only exchanged experiences on pressing industry issues but also familiarized themselves with cutting-edge technologies, discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation, and identified key areas for further collaboration.

These training sessions were a practical realization of agreements reached during the third meeting of the Uzbekistan-Türkiye Strategic Partnership Council, held in Ankara in June 2024. One of the priorities outlined by the leaders of both countries was the expansion of economic cooperation and the strengthening of knowledge exchange in industrial sectors.

The initiative not only reinforces bilateral economic ties but also aims to enhance the skills of Uzbek specialists, create new opportunities for local manufacturers, and expand their presence in international markets.

The final stage of the seminars took place on March 1 in a formal ceremony where participants were awarded certificates confirming the successful completion of the program. Representatives of TIKA commended the active engagement of the specialists and, as a gesture of support, donated a 3D printer to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Economy and Finance. This state-of-the-art equipment was transferred to Tashkent State Technical University to be integrated into the educational process, allowing for the modernization of jewelry design and manufacturing. The implementation of 3D technologies will create new opportunities for testing design concepts, improving product quality, and optimizing production processes.

During roundtable discussions and practical training sessions, Turkish experts and representatives of local enterprises in the jewelry and glass industries focused on the following key topics:

Modern technologies in jewelry manufacturing, including design creation, material processing, and innovative quality control methods.

Eco-friendly and energy-efficient technologies in the glass industry.

Strategies for entering international markets, developing export potential, building a competitive brand, and adapting products to global standards.

Participants had the opportunity to learn from Türkiye’s advanced expertise, discuss current industry trends, and exchange professional insights.

Additionally, the delegation visited several key enterprises, including GLASS-EXPO LLC, a sheet glass processing and recycling plant; CAMPALIA LLC, a joint venture specializing in glass packaging for the food and pharmaceutical industries; and Gold Moon Tashkent LLC, which operates in the jewelry sector under the Fonon brand.

Following the program, both sides expressed their intention to continue cooperation. Future plans include advanced training courses in Türkiye for Uzbek specialists and the organization of additional workshops on cutting-edge technologies in jewelry and glass manufacturing.
