Turkish shoe brands are expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On the next day of the business visit of the Uzcharmsanoat association and its member enterprises to the Republic of Türkiye, an Uzbek-Turkish business meeting and B2B dialogues were organized in Bursa. Along with Uzbek enterprises, Turkish shoe brands also took part in the forum, which examined in detail the prospects for mutual cooperation.

The Uzbek side informed the participants about the reforms being implemented in the leather and footwear industry, its production, investment and export potential, the legal framework, and the conditions created for investors. In addition, details of the customs and tax incentives in force in our country and the logistics opportunities created are disclosed. The association presented a package of new investment projects for 2024-2026.

Following the forum, B2B meetings were organized between representatives of the business circles of the two countries. Uzbek enterprises have reached effective agreements in such areas as the production of products under Turkish brands, the supply of shoes on the basis of “outsourcing”, and the implementation of joint projects.

In particular, domestic brands Perfect, UzShoes, KFK, San+One, Iskander and Magna Sport have reached agreements to establish mutually beneficial cooperation with dozens of Turkish enterprises, such as Gratto, Sato, NGS, MyFit and O`z Mizan Deri.

At a meeting between the management of the San+One and KFK enterprises with the Gratto brand, the possibilities of opening a joint production of products in Uzbekistan and their subsequent export to Italy and the CIS countries were considered. The partners stated that at the initial stage the models will be produced in Türkiye, but in the future it is planned to transfer part of the production to Uzbekistan.

The Turkish brand Myfit is considering the prospects of placing orders with Uzbek enterprises for the production of its products through an outsourcing system. In this regard, preliminary agreements have already been reached on the creation of exemplary product models and the supply of raw materials.

The WARBOOTS, specializing in the production of safety footwear, plans to implement a large project in Uzbekistan. It is expected to be the company’s largest manufacturing facility in the world, covering an area of 8 hectares. The cost of the project is estimated at US$50 million. At the meeting it was stated that at the initial stage the investment amount would be US$15 million.

Once the plant is launched, more than 4,000 new jobs will be created. When the project is fully launched, it is planned to export products worth US$700 million. At the meeting, it was proposed to allocate a plot of land for the project in the small industrial zone of Akhangarane. In March, company representatives intend to come to Uzbekistan to familiarize themselves with land plots and local production opportunities.

Our local enterprises also visited the industrial zones of Bursa and got acquainted with Türkiye’s experience in the field of leather processing and the production of branded shoes.

Negotiations on expanding bilateral cooperation took place here.

In particular, Magna Sport agreed with Bursa Eldiven Sanayi to produce gloves needed in industry and construction.

Representatives of this Turkish company are also planning a business visit to Uzbekistan in March this year to sign an agreement on the export of products. During the upcoming meeting in a month, the parties also plan to discuss the possibility of creating a new joint production.
