Turkish Akca Holding intends to create textile production in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 November, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjaev held a meeting with Ahmet Bilge Goksan, a member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish company Akca Holding.

Akca Holding is one of the largest companies in Turkiye, which includes enterprises in the fields of light industry, energy, food production, turbodiesel generators and motors. The company has over 20 thousand employees.

During the meeting, the prospects for intensifying bilateral relations were discussed, bearing in mind the implementation of new joint projects and the further development of cooperation in the textile industry, renewable energy sources, agriculture and engineering.

Representatives of the Turkish company highly appreciated the conditions created in Uzbekistan for comfortable activities of investors and expressed their readiness to implement an investment project in the textile industry worth US$250 million in Namangan region. Turkish company plans to produce products from yarn, terry towels, home textiles, knitwear, military uniforms, linen, dyed fabric and other textile products targeted at the markets of the USA, Europe, Brazil, Canada and other countries. With full implementation of the project, 12-15 thousand new jobs will be created.

Following the meeting, the Uzbek side expressed its readiness to provide comprehensive assistance at all stages of the project, as well as in the process of developing new investment initiatives.
