Transport, communication sector attracts most investments in 1Q
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Transport and communication sector of Uzbekistan attracted 32.4% of total investments into fixed capital in the first quarter of 2009. The sector attracted 860.8 billion soums in the reporting period.
Fuel and energy industry attracted 458.7 billion soums of investments or 17.3% of total investments into fixed capital.
About 16.1% of investments or 426.6 billion soums were directed to education sector in January-March 2009.
Geology and exploration industry utilized 207.6 billion soums of investments or 7.8% of total investments.
Housing construction used 7.4% of total investments or 195.2 billion soums.
Total volume of utilized investments in fixed capital increased by 31.4% year-on-year to 2.652 trillion soums in January-March 2009.
