Transport and communication industry attracts half of foreign investments, credits
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Transport and communication industry of Uzbekistan attracted 57.9% of foreign investments and credits in the first half of 2009, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
Geology and prospecting industry utilized 13.5% of foreign investments and credits in the reporting period. Fuel and energy industry used 12.3% of foreign investments and credits in January-June 2009.
Light industry attracted 2.9% of foreign investments and credits, while construction industry received 1.1% of investments and credits.
Total volume of utilized investments in fixed capital in Uzbekistan reached 6.026 trillion soums or grew by 32.7% year-on-year. Total volume of utilized investments in fixed capital in Uzbekistan reached 6.026 trillion soums or grew by 32.7% year-on-year.
