Transaction volume via Uzbekistan’s interbank payment system reaches 7.279 quadrillion soums in 2024

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2024, the total volume of transactions conducted through Uzbekistan’s interbank payment system reached 7.279 quadrillion soums, marking a one-third increase compared to the previous year. These figures were announced during a press conference at the Central Bank, where representatives from financial institutions presented the performance results of the national payment system.

On average, daily transactions through the system amounted to 29.2 trillion soums. Within the clearing system alone, more than 123 million payments were processed, with a total value exceeding 100 trillion soums.

Particular emphasis was placed on the instant payment system, which operates 24/7. This system has significantly streamlined transactions for both businesses and individual entrepreneurs, allowing them to send and receive payments at any time. In 2024, the instant payment system processed 47.6 million transactions worth 917.9 trillion soums, with 38% of those carried out during evening and nighttime hours.

QR code transactions played a major role in promoting digital payments. In 2024, entrepreneurs received 108,000 individual QR codes through the QR-online system, and the total volume of payments made using them reached 441.7 billion soums. This solution enables businesses to accept payments without traditional POS terminals, reducing costs and enhancing access to digital payment tools.

These advances in digital finance highlight the growing popularity of cashless payments and the continued development of financial technologies in Uzbekistan.
