Training on project management within World Bank grant programs kicks off in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 5 to 7 February 2025, a training seminar titled "Project Management Practices Based on the PMI® PMBOK® Guide 6th and 7th Editions" is being held at the Agency for Innovation Development.
The event is organized by the World Bank’s Project Implementation Group (PIG) for the project "Modernization of Uzbekistan’s National Innovation System" (MUNIS) and aims to enhance the competencies of participants from the Research Commercialization Program and Business Investments in Research & Development (RCP & BIRD) grant programs.
During the seminar, participants are studying the fundamentals of project management, including the development and implementation of project plans, risk management, timelines, and resource management, as well as the application of agile methodologies. Special emphasis is placed on the PMI® PMBOK® Guide, which was developed by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and serves as an international benchmark for project management.
The training is conducted with the participation of Fanur Group and the Union of Project Managers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, both authorized PMI partners. Key speakers include Aida Esenzhan, a certified project manager and consultant on strategic and organizational development, and Akbota Akzambekkyzy, a certified project management professional (PMP) and director of the Project Management Certification Center.
During the sessions, participants engage with practical case studies, methodological materials, and interactive exercises to reinforce the knowledge gained. Special focus is given to the project management principles, processes, and knowledge areas defined in the PMI® PMBOK® Guide (6th and 7th Editions).
Upon completing the training, participants will have the opportunity to take the PMI® PMP® (Project Management Professional) exam, which opens up career growth opportunities and the implementation of international standards in project management in Uzbekistan.
Organizers noted the high level of participant engagement and expressed confidence that the knowledge and skills acquired will contribute to the successful implementation of projects within the RCP and BIRD programs.
