Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A training course "Application of ICT in the Public Administration" was held in 26 March in Nukus city, is aimed at raising awareness of state workers on various developments and world trends in the field of Information Communication Technologies, and is to accommodate around 40 representatives of different state structures, departments, agencies, as well as those of some local establishments.

This training course was organized by the Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan and UNDP "Assisting the government of Uzbekistan in the formulation and implementation of ICT for development policy" Project(ICTP).

These trainings are continuances of those in the training series in the sphere of Information Technologies directed at raising awareness of public servants in various areas and world trends of information and communication technologies in public administration and society, helping participants to obtain practical skills in the context of real projects aimed at the formation e-government in Uzbekistan, and also to share experiences among course participants.

The main areas covered during the course were: “Basic laws and legal instruments adopted in the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of ICT, “The notion of electronic documents circulation”, “Basics of electronic digital signature”, “The world experience of e-government implementation", “Problems of information security” and alike.

Delivery of the training involves some leading field experts that possess practical experience in implementing components of E-government in Uzbekistan. Upon completion of the training participants will have a chance to take tests and consolidate their skills and knowledge gained during the training.

On completion of the training course the participants were awarded special certificates, signed by the course organizers - the Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan and UNDP "Assisting the government of Uzbekistan in the formulation and implementation of ICT for development policy" Project(ICTP).

Similar training course will then be conducted in Khorezm region on 30-31 March for 40 representatives of local authorities, public bodies and departments as well as of local businesses. This training will be completed with a test that allows participants to check the level of their knowledge and to consolidate the covered material.

It should be noted that this training course is a continuation of trainings series conducted by the Communication and Information Agency of Uzbekistan jointly with the UNDP, aimed at raising awareness of public servants in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT).
