Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 15 October, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the city of Almalyk in Tashkent region, where the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Plant (AGMK) plays a pivotal role in the city's development.
Thanks to this enterprise, the economy of the city is growing, jobs are being created, housing is being constructed, and cultural and educational institutions are opening.
The President emphasized the need for continuous growth driven by scientific approaches in various sectors. In Almalyk, training programs for specialists are already in place, including branches of the Tashkent State Technical University and the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys. Recently, an Engineering School of AGMK was established, which the president began his visit with.
At this school, based on German experience, 480 engineers will be trained annually, and thousands of employees will receive professional development. The curriculum is developed using advanced methodologies from the Freiberg University of Mining and Technology in Germany, as well as companies like "GP Günter Papenburg AG" and "Aurubis AG." Training is conducted with the involvement of foreign specialists, and the school is equipped with modern facilities for practical classes in mechanics, metallurgy, automation, mineral processing, and energy.
The President noted the importance of digitizing all processes within the enterprise and emphasized the need for continuous professional development of specialists. He also highlighted the connection between theory and practice in the educational process.
Additionally, Shavkat Mirziyoyev pointed out that, as part of the further development of engineering schools in the country, 10 higher engineering schools have already been established. These institutions will collaborate with industrial partners to train targeted personnel in high-demand fields, and faculty members will undergo internships at leading foreign universities.
Thus, the government's focus on developing human resources and modernizing production in Almalyk confirms a strategic approach to the long-term development of the region's industry and economy.
