Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Changes have been made to the regulations governing interactions between traffic police officers and road users, as well as the use of specialized equipment in Uzbekistan.
These changes were implemented by a decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan from 17 July 2024.
The amendments affect Article 31 of the regulations, which previously required traffic police officers to inform a driver, who has violated traffic rules or exceeded the speed limit, of the device’s readings and to provide a certificate of conformity or a copy upon request.
Now, the use of mobile speed cameras and radar systems is regulated by Article 37 of the regulations. According to Article 37 and Article 309-1 of the Administrative Code, when an administrative offense is recorded using automated technical means for photo and video documentation, an administrative protocol is not drawn up. The penalty decision is issued without the presence of the person who committed the offense, and repeat offenses are not considered.
As a result, traffic police officers are no longer required to show the device’s readings or provide a certificate of conformity to the driver upon request.
