Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The volume of trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the European Union in 2023 reached 5.13 billion euros, which is 11% higher than in 2022. This was announced by the Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan, Charlotte Adrian, at an event dedicated to diplomatic and economic relations between Uzbekistan and the EU.
According to its data, exports from EU countries to Uzbekistan amounted to 4.35 billion euros, while imports from Uzbekistan to the European Union exceeded 780 million euros.
Charlotte Adrian recalled that in 2022, exports from the EU to Uzbekistan increased by 63.9%, reaching 3.77 billion euros, and imports from Uzbekistan to the EU increased by 77.1%, amounting to 845 million euros. The overall growth in trade turnover in 2022 was more than 70%.
The Ambassador added that the European Union will continue to provide support to Uzbekistan, including the GSP+ mechanism and support for Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization or the European Petrochemical Association, which will open a new chapter in the partnership.
