Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia grows by 22.3% in 1H
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia grew by 22.3% year-on-year to US$3.144 billion in the first half of 2011, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

The committee said that the volume of exports from Russia to Uzbekistan made up US$2.117 billion in January-June 2011 against US$1.705 billion in the first half of 2010. Imports from Russia to Uzbekistan rose from US$866.2 million to US$1.027 billion in the reporting period.

Russia was the largest trade partner of Uzbekistan in the first half of 2011 and it share in Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover reached 26.1%.

Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up US$12.066 billion in the first half of 2011 (+21%).

Trade turnover of Uzbekistan with the CIS states hit US$5.025 billion (+29.9%) and with other states – US$7.041 billion (+15.4%) in the reporting period.

Foreign trade surplus made up $2.417 billion, including US$1.06 billion with the CIS countries and US$1.357 billion with other foreign countries.

Kazakhstan (share in Uzbekistan’s trade turnover – 9.5%), China (7.8%), Republic of Korea (6.5%) and Turkey (5.1%) were among top five largest trade partners of Uzbekistan along with Russia.
