Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first nine months of 2024, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Bashkortostan grew by 29%. This was reported by Lyna Izotova, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Congress Activities of Bashkortostan, at a press conference held at the Sputnik Uzbekistan Media Center.
According to Izotova, Uzbekistan ranks in the top 10 for trade and economic cooperation, holding the 7th position with a 4.5% share in Bashkortostan’s foreign trade turnover.
"Exports from Bashkortostan to Uzbekistan increased by 20%, while imports grew by 67%. We see a strong interest in cooperation," she noted.
Izotova also mentioned that Bashkortostan is particularly interested in collaborating with Uzbekistan in the textile industry.
It was highlighted that manufacturers from the Namangan region participated in the International Business Week in Ufa, where they presented their booth featuring men’s suits.
"We see that the quality is good, and we hope that this sector will continue to develop, and that we will find new areas of cooperation," added the Bashkortostan spokesperson.
