Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 4 January, a grand ceremony was held at Tashkent Central Railway Station to welcome the arrival of the ‘Jibek Joly’ tourist train from Almaty.

The event was organized by Uzbekistan’s Committee on Tourism, Uzbekistan Railways JSC, and Kazakhstan Railways JSC.

This marks the second journey of the ‘Jibek Joly’ train along the route Almaty — Turkestan — Tashkent — Samarkand — Shymkent — Almaty, operating from 2 to 7 January 2025. Tickets for the tourist train were available through travel agencies.

The route follows the path of the ancient Great Silk Road, offering travelers visits to key historical and cultural landmarks in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

The program includes guided tours, meals, and support from professional guides.

In Tashkent and Samarkand, meetings between tourism industry representatives from both countries are scheduled to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

The ‘Jibek Joly’ train aims to promote domestic and international tourism across Central Asia.
