Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today, on 18 November, Tashkent’s Central Railway Station hosted a ceremonial welcome for the inaugural trip of the new "Jibek Joly" tourist train arriving from Almaty.
This joint project by Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee and the railway companies “Uzbekiston Temir Yullari” and “Qazaqstan Temir Zholy” offers a five-day tour along the Almaty–Turkestan–Tashkent–Almaty route.
The first trip included 115 tourists. The tour program features a one-day stop in Turkestan and a two-day stop in Tashkent, with a rich itinerary that includes visits to major landmarks and scenic spots. All excursions are conducted by experienced guides, with city transportation provided by comfortable buses.
The train consists of five brand-new carriages manufactured in Kazakhstan, with a service crew comprising a train manager, eight attendants, and an electromechanic. Tickets were sold through travel agencies.
