Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia, together with the State Committee of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development, organized a large presentation on the opportunities of the republic in tourism in Moscow.

The leaders and representatives of travel agencies of two countries, members of the Uzbek diaspora, and journalists were invited to the event. A delegation of the State Committee on Tourism of Uzbekistan headed by advisor to the chairman of the committee Behruz Khamzayev arrived in Moscow especially for the participation in the presentation.

The event was opened by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation, Botirjon Asadov, who presented to the participants detailed information on measures taken in the country to further develop the tourism industry, diversify and improve the quality of services, and improve the relevant infrastructure.

Particular attention is paid to the liberalization of the visa regime, simplification of the registration of foreign citizens, the provision of privileges and preferences to the private sector, which have created favorable opportunities to ensure a qualitative leap in the field.

Advisor to the Chairman of the State Committee on Tourism Behruz Khamzayev told in detail about the enormous opportunities of Uzbekistan in the tourism sector and the mechanisms for their promotion on the world market. The participants were informed in detail about the advantages of our country in terms of travel, introduced in recent years, innovations for tourists, created in the country a favorable business environment for running and expanding the tourism business.

It was noted that at the present stage, Uzbekistan has launched a systematic work to promote its image in the international arena. In this regard, cooperation has been established with leading PR companies and creative agencies of the world, which allows raising information and advertising work abroad to a qualitatively new level.

In turn, Azimjon Khojaev briefed on the work being done by the domestic airline to help attract tourists to the country. Great interest among the audience was aroused by plans to further reduce the prices of air tickets along popular routes. The meeting participants expressed their conviction that such a measure would create an opportunity to increase the flow of tourists to Uzbekistan at times.

In their speeches, the representatives of Russia highly appreciated the reforms being implemented in our country. At the same time, specific proposals were made on the development of the tourism industry, improving and expanding the types of services provided to travelers.

As part of the event, an exhibition of samples of national applied art of Uzbekistan was organized. Brochures and reference materials on the country’s tourism potential were distributed to the guests of the meeting. A nice addition to the meeting was a tasting of dishes of national cuisine and a cultural program with the performance of Uzbek dances.
