Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A tourist information center has started its work on the territory of Samarkand International Airport.

It should be noted that in the tourist information center tourists can get detailed information about the procedure for the stay of foreign citizens in the Republic of Uzbekistan, cultural heritage sites of interest to tourists, tourist destinations, public transport services, car rental, catering, trade and consumer services, hotels , medical centers, etc.

It should be noted that if last year there were 9 tourist information centers in Samarkand, by 2023 their number is planned to be increased to 18.

The opening of the information center took place in accordance with the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 24 December 2022 No. PP-455 “On additional measures for the effective use of the tourism and transport potential of the Samarkand region, the development of the region based on the concept of “Samarkand is the tourist gate of New Uzbekistan”.

Samarkand is the capital of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in 2023. The 25th anniversary session of the UNWTO General Assembly will be held in Samarkand.
