Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 14 to 18 August, the 2nd International Forum of Ancient Cities was held in Ryazan (Russia), which presents the tourism potential of Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara. The forum has been held on an annual basis since 2018 in order to present the unique culture and history of ancient cities that are more than 500 years old.

The event was attended by representatives of 54 cities from 32 countries. The program of a large-scale event included various exhibitions, fairs, scientific and practical conferences, round tables, performances and concerts.

During the forum, the Uzbek delegation, which included representatives of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the Development of Tourism, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation, Khokimiyats of Samarkand and Bukhara Regions, as well as tour operators of the country with the assistance of the diaspora organization "Ryazan Local Uzbek National Cultural Autonomy" DIAMOND "And our compatriots living in the Russian Federation, took part in a rich forum program.

On the first day of the forum, the Travel around Uzbekistan platform was installed in the Ryazan Regional Library named after Gorky, which featured: The country’s national stand, showing the tourism potential of Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara, the photo exhibition “Following Yesenin’s Traces in Uzbekistan” and the Silk International Festival and spices ”, which is held annually in Bukhara and the fair of products of national applied Uzbek art.

Also, on the site, for the guests of the forum, performances of representatives of creative groups of the Uzbek diaspora were organized. It is worth noting that the work of the Uzbek exhibition aroused great interest among the participants and guests of the event, and was also covered by leading federal and regional media.

In addition, within the framework of the forum, on the stage of the Ryazan Musical Theater, on 17 August, a performance of the Bukhara Regional Musical Drama Theater “Bukhara Wedding” took place, after which the audience expressed a desire to visit Uzbekistan. Also, in order to promote the tourism potential of our country, a theater fair was organized by the Uzbek diaspora during the performance of the performance by the Uzbek diaspora and a counter was set up to provide guests with information about the tourism potential of Uzbekistan by distributing handouts (brochures, magazines, tourist cards) to the participants.

As part of the forum’s business program, the representatives of the State Committee for Tourism took part in the meeting of the Association of Ancient Cities, during which the tourism potential of Samarkand and Bukhara was presented, videos showing the country’s rich cultural heritage were shown, and topical issues on preserving cultural and historical heritage monuments, innovative approaches and consolidation of the world community in this area.

In addition, within the framework of the forum, a meeting was held between representatives of tourist organizations of Uzbekistan and Russia, during which agreements were reached on mutual cooperation and attraction of Russian tourists to our country.
