Tourism Forum "Uzbekistan – Oman" Held in the Sultanate of Oman
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Sultanate of Oman hosted the tourism forum "Uzbekistan – Oman," organized at the initiative of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The event aimed to strengthen Uzbekistan’s positive image on the international stage, foster partnerships with the Arab world, and showcase the country’s tourism and investment potential.
The forum brought together representatives of relevant government agencies, leading travel agencies, and hotel chains from both countries. Discussions focused on prospects for increasing mutual tourist flows, the potential launch of direct flights between Uzbekistan and Oman, and the implementation of joint tourism and infrastructure projects.
Particular attention was drawn to the presentation titled "Uzbekistan — The Jewel of the Silk Road," which highlighted the country’s cultural and historical uniqueness, rich heritage, traditional crafts, cuisine, and tourist routes through the cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, and Tashkent.
The practical segment of the event included B2B and G2B formats, where representatives of tourism companies and state institutions from both nations discussed joint promotion of tourism products, the development of specialized tour packages, experience sharing, and the expansion of partner networks.
As part of the forum, a vibrant cultural event was held at one of Muscat’s largest shopping and entertainment centers, featuring performances by Uzbek artists. Visitors were treated to energetic Uzbek dances and music that immediately captivated the audience and created a festive atmosphere.
This colorful performance served as a vivid addition to Uzbekistan’s presentation as a promising destination on the global tourism map, visually reinforcing the forum’s goals — enhancing the country’s image, expanding international cooperation, and promoting Uzbekistan as the "jewel of the Silk Road."
The forum marked an important step toward developing sustainable bilateral relations in tourism, contributing to the diversification of tourist flows, increased business engagement, and deeper cultural exchange between Uzbekistan and the Gulf countries.
Through such initiatives, Uzbekistan continues to strengthen its position as a key tourist destination in Central Asia, reaffirming its role as a bridge between East and West.
