Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The procedure for issuing subsidies from the off-budget Fund for support of the tourism sector under the Ministry of tourism and sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the development of tourism for tour operators, travel agents and accommodation facilities has been determined.

This is stated in the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On support of the subjects of the tourism industry and the development of tourism infrastructure in the economic situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic” No. 602 dated 06.10.2020.

One of the many types of subsidies is the provision of subsidies for tour operators and travel agents who, in turn, accepted and served foreign tourists with the condition of staying in accommodation facilities for at least 5 days.

Subsidies are allocated in soums in the equivalent of 15 dollars at the rate of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan on the day of payment for each foreign tourist.

In connection with the opening of the tourist season, the first applications of tour operators for this subsidy were received and processed.

So only in March of this year, 2 applications were received from tour operators in the amount of 99 foreign tourists in the amount of US$1,485 or for 15 million 632 thousand soums.

In general, 123.4 thousand foreign tourists arrived in Uzbekistan in March 2021, and a significant increase in these indicators is predicted every month.
