Total volume of cumulative income of the population of Uzbekistan reaches 173 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to pre-liminary data, total volume of cumulative income of the population of Uzbekistan in January-September 2018 reached 173 trillion soums, which, on a per person basis, is on average equal to 5.3 million soums.

Real incomes characterize nominal incomes taking into account changes in retail prices and tariffs, representing the real purchasing power of nominal income.

Due to the change in consumer prices, the growth rate of cumulative income of the population in real terms was 11.4%, per capita income was 9.5% com-pared to the same period of last year.

The average per capita nominal aggregate incomes of the population above the average republican value were in Tashkent city – 11.72 million soums, Navoi – 7.99 million soums, Bukhara – 6.15 million soums, Tashkent – 5.65 million soums and Khorezm – 5.32 million soums regions. The lowest indicator of average per capita nominal cumulative income of the population was observed in Namangan region – 3.82 million soums.

A very high rate of real growth in total per capita income was recorded in Khorezm - 14,1%. Also in Surkhandarya - 13,6%, Bukhara and Samarkand - 11,7%, Namangan - 11,0%, Kashkadarya - 10,4%, Andijan - 10,1% of the regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 10,7% of the average per capita income exceed the national average.

Significant growth in total aggregate incomes of the population is mainly due to significant changes in income from employment (incomes of employees and from self-employment), which account for 65% of total income and 28.6% from transfer income.

In the total income of the regions, the largest share of income received from labor activity (income from employment and self-employment) was observed in Navoi region (80.5%). On the contrary, in the Ferghana and Bukhara regions, in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Andijan and Namangan regions, the Tashkent city, Samarkad and Khorezm regions was below the national average.

Also, in Khorezm and Samarkand regions the share of income from transfers was more than 36% of the cumulative income of the population, and in Andijan and Namangan this figure was one third of the total income of the population.

Incomes from labor activity have significant weight in the structure of total incomes of the population. According to preliminary data for January-September 2018, the share of income from labor activity in the structure of cumulative income of the population was 65%, the nominal income growth rates compared to the corresponding period of 2017 reached 21.7%.

Such a significant share and growth rates over that period contributed to the growth in total volume of total revenues in the nominal volume by 15.3%.

In turn, income from labor activity is formed from the income of wage earners and income from self-employment.

In January-September 2018, the income of employees increased by 22.2% and amounted to 30.8% of the total aggregate income of the population.

The highest nominal growth rates of income of employees were observed in Tashkent region (+26.7%), in Tashkent city (+25.3%), Karakalpakstan (+24.4%), Surkhandarya and Andijan (+24%) regions, and also in Khorezm region (+22.8%).

The next main source of income from labor activity is the income from self-employment of the population. This sphere mainly includes individual entrepreneurial activities of the population in various sectors of the economy.

In January-September 2018, the nominal growth rate of income of the population from self-employment reached 21.3%. In the total volume of total income of the population, this source of income takes a considerable weight and its share is 34.2%.

Share of income from self-employment in total income in the regions distinguishes and varies from 16.9% (in Tashkent city) to 46% (in Jizzakh re-gion). The share of income from self-employment in Jizzakh (46%), Surkhandarya (43.5%), Tashkent (42.1%), Syrdarya (40%), Bukhara (39%), Andijan (38.2%), Samarkand (37.6%) and Navoi (37.3%), Kashkadarya (35.9%), Namangan (35.1%), Ferghana regions (35%) were higher than others sources of in-come.

Income from self-employment by its share also has a significant impact on the total income of the population. With an increase in income from self-employment by 1%, the total volume of total income increases by 0.37%.

The share of income from self-employment in the structure of total income of the population and their high growth rates have a significant impact on the growth of gross income. For example, the growth rate of income from self-employment in Bukhara, Jizzakh, Navoi, Surkhandarya, Syrdarya and Tashkent regions provided more than one-third increase in total income in the region.

In Jizzakh region, the share of income derived from self-employment in the total volume of total income of the population was 46%, while the nominal growth rate was 27.9% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. Only the same income led to an increase in total income of Jizzakh region by 13%.

Similarly, 43.5% share and 27.6% growth rate provided 12.9% growth rate of total income of the population in Surkhandarya region.

Also one of the sources of income of the population are income from the property. According to preliminary results, in January-September 2018, population received 7.4 trillion soums in property income. The nominal rate of their growth, compared with the corresponding period of 2017, amounted to 34.2%. The share of property income in the total volume of total income of the population reached 4.3%.

In turn, property income consists of interest, dividends, royalties and other property income.

In the structure of property income, other property incomes have the main share – 62.8%. The next most important are dividends – 25.6%, interest on bonds, deposits and other securities, as well as royalties – 11.6%.

The impact of property income on change in the total volume of total income of the population is insignificant. In the past period, these revenues contributed to an increase in total volume of total income by 1.4%.

Two thirds of the amount of property income received in January-September 2018 fell on the share of Tashkent city - 69%. The following regions have considerable weight: Tashkent (6.4%), Samarkand (4.2%) and Ferghana (3.5%) and Namangan (3.3%) regions.

In the income structure of the population, the income from transfers is of no small importance. The nominal growth rate of income from transfers, according to preliminary data for January-September 2018 over the corresponding period of the previous year, was 62.9%.

At the same time, the share of transfers in total volume of total income of the population for this period increased by 5.5% points to 28.6%.

 

Income from transfers consist of social transfers and other income. Social transfers, in turn, include pensions, benefits and scholarships. The share of social transfers during this period was 10.9% and the growth rate reached 21.6%.

Changes over the past period of pensions, allowances and scholarships contributed to an increase in the total volume of total income of the population by 2.5%.

The growth of social transfers is mainly influenced by pensions, share of which was 83.6% in their volume.

Compared with the corresponding period of 2017, the growth rate of pensions reached 20.5%, the growth rate of benefits amounted to 27%, and the growth rate of scholarships was 28.7%.

In January-September, 2.3 trillion soums of benefits and mat-rial assistance were allocated for social support of the population. Of these, 51.8% of the social insurance benefit was financed by the Extra-budgetary Pension Fund and 48.2% was allocated from the republican and local budgets.

Nominal growth rates of remittances from abroad, which are part of other current transfers for the first 9 months of 2018, amounted to 205,8%, and their share in total income of the population increased by 6,4% compared to the same period last year. Such a significant change in income provided an increase in the nominal value of total income of the population by 12.0%.

In the current period, the share of remittances from abroad in total volume of total income of the population was significantly higher, the largest share in Khorezm (30.2%), Samarkand (24.8%) and Andijan (24.4%) regions. Also, in Bukhara (22.6%), Namangan (21.9%), Surkhandarya (21%), Ferghana (19.1%) and Kashkadarya (18.2%) regions exceeded the national average.

It should be noted that, according to preliminary data for January-September 2018, of the total aggregate income of the population, the share of income received from small businesses was 55.9%.

The share of regions in income from small businesses is different: the largest share falls on Tashkent city (15.8%), the smallest share falls on the share of Syrdarya region (2.4%).

In the structure of aggregate incomes of the population, the share of income from small business has a significant weight in the following regions: Jizzakh – 62.7%, Surkhandarya – 60.8%, Syrdarya – 59.1%, Samarkand and Bukhara - 59%, Khorezm regions – 57. 7%.
