Total income of the population of Uzbekistan hits 64.9 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, in January-March 2019, the total volume of aggregate income of the population of Uzbekistan made up 64.9 trillio. soums, which, per person, is on average equal to 1.9 million soums.

The average per capita nominal aggregate income of the population above the national average was recorded in the city of Tashkent – 4.68 million soums, in Navoi region – 2.96 million soums, in Bukhara region – 2.2 million soums and in t Tashkent region – 2.13 million soums.

The lowest indicator of the average per capita nominal aggregate income of the population was recorded in Namangan – 1.4 million soums, Ferghana – 1.46 million` soums and Surkhandarya regions – 1.51 million soums.

A very high rate of real growth in total per capita income was recorded in Tashkent city - 14.6% and in the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 9.0%. Also in Bukhara - 7.0% and Surkhandarya - 6.7% of the regions, the average per capita income exceeds the national average.

Significant growth in total aggregate income of the population is mainly due to significant changes in income from employment (incomes of employees and from self-employment), which account for 66.0% of total income and 26.1% of income from transfers.

In the total income of the regions, the largest share of income received from labor activity (income of wage earners and income from self-employment) was observed in Navoi region (80.2%).

On the contrary, in the city of Tashkent, Samarkand, Namangan, Khorezm, Andijan, Surkhandarya regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan, it was below the national average.

Also in Samarkand, Andijan and Surkhandarya regions, the share of income from transfers amounted to more than 30% of the total income of the population.

Incomes from labor activity have a significant weight in the structure of the total income of the population. According to preliminary data, in January-March 2019, the share of income from labor activity in the structure of total income of the population was 66%, the nominal growth rate of income compared to the corresponding period of 2018 reached 123.4% and contributed to the increase in total aggregate income in nominal volume about 15.4%.

In January-March 2019, incomes of employees increased by 28.9% and amounted to 32.4% of the total aggregate income of the population.

The highest nominal growth rates of income of employees were observed in Jizzakh (+ 35.3%), Namangan (+ 33.2%) and Samarkand (+ 32.5%) regions.

The share of income from self-employment in total income in the regions varies and ranges from 15.6% (in the city of Tashkent) to 48.2% (in Jizzakh region).

The impact of property income on the change in total aggregate income of the population is insignificant. In the past period, these revenues contributed to the growth of total aggregate income in the order of 1.3%.

Two thirds of the amount of property income received in January-March 2018 fell to the share of the city of Tashkent - 67.8%. The following regions of considerable weight are Tashkent (6.8%), Samarkand (4.4%) and Namangan (3.8%) regions.

The nominal growth rate of income from transfers, according to preliminary data for January-March 2019 to the corresponding period of the previous year, was 21.6%.

Changes over the past period of pensions, allowances and scholarships contributed to the growth of total population income by 3.5%.

The share of pensions in the total volume of social transfers reached 82.4%, benefits - 13.3%, scholarships - 4.3%.

In January-March 2019, 1.1 trillion soums were allocated for social support, benefits and material assistance. Of these, the Pension Fund financed 52.5% of insurance benefits, 47.5% allocated from the republican and local budgets.

Nominal growth rates of remittances from abroad, which are part of other current transfers, in January-March 2018 amounted to 15.1%, and their share, compared to the same period of last year, in total income of the population decreased by 1.0 pp and amounted to 13.7%. The change in income from other current transfers ensured an increase in the nominal value of the total income of the population by 2.2%.

According to preliminary data for January-March 2019, of the total aggregate income of the population, the share of income received from small businesses was 54.9%.

The share of income from small businesses in the total aggregate income of the population varies by region: the largest amount falls on Jizzakh region - 63.0%, the smallest - on the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 45.3%.

Along with this, the share of transfers in the total volume of total income of the population over the same period decreased by 0.3 percentage points to 26.1%.

Social transfers, in turn, include pensions, benefits and scholarships. The share of social transfers for this period made up 12.3%, and the growth rate reached 29.8%.

Compared with the corresponding period of 2018, the growth rate of pensions made up 27.4%, the growth rate of benefits - 46.5%, and the growth rate of scholarships - 29.6%.
