Total aggregate income of the population of Uzbekistan reached 515.7 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, in January-December 2021, the total aggregate income of the population of Uzbekistan reached 515.7 trillion soums, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said in a report. 

In order to exclude the influence of price factors for the calculation of real growth rates of incomes of the population, the consumer price index (CPI) is used - one of the important types of inflation indicator. Due to changes in consumer prices, the growth rate of the total income of the population, compared to the same period in 2020, in real terms amounted to 12.1%.

In January-December 2021 (for twelve months), the average per capita nominal total income of the population above the national average was noted in Tashkent city – 30.23 million soums, Navoi – 24.15 million soums, Bukhara – 17.85 million soums, Tashkent – 16.33 million soums and Khorezm – 15.48 million soums. 

In January-December 2021 (for twelve months), the lowest indicator of the average per capita nominal total income of the population was recorded in Ferghana – 10.93 million soums and Namangan – 11.33 million soums, the Republic of Karakalpakstan – 11.39 million soums, and also in Surkhandarya region – 11.88 million soums.

The indicator of real growth in total per capita income for January-December 2021 amounted to 9.9%, the same indicator for January-December 2020 was recorded at – 1.4%.

The highest real growth rate was recorded in Khorezm - 13.9%, Tashkent - 11.9% and Ferghana - 11.8% regions. Real growth rates below the national average were noted in Tashkent city - 4.9%, as well as in Syrdarya - 5.3%, Andijan - 8.1%, Jizzakh - 8.7%, Kashkadarya - 8.9% regions and Republic of Karakalpakstan - 9.7%.

Significant growth in the total volume of aggregate income of the population is mainly due to significant changes in income from labor activity (income of employees and income from self-employment), which account for 65.0% of total income and 26.3% are income from transfers.

In the total income of the regions, the largest share of income received from labor activity (income of employees and income from self-employment) was observed in Jizzakh region (76.9%). On the contrary, in Khorezm and Samarkand regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Namangan, Surkhandarya, Fergana regions, as well as in the city of Tashkent and Kashkadarya, Andijan regions, it was below the national average.

Income from labor activity (income of hired workers and income from self-employment) has a significant weight in the structure of the total income of the population.

According to preliminary data, in January-December 2021, the share of income from labor activity in the structure of the total income of the population amounted to 65.0%. The nominal growth rate of income in relation to the corresponding period of 2020 reached 22.5% and contributed to the growth of the nominal volume of total income in the order of 14.8%.

The growth rate of incomes of employees in the past period reached 25.4%, which ensured an increase in nominal incomes of the population by 6.9%. In January-December 2021, the share of total income of employees among the population amounted to 27.6%.

The highest nominal growth rates of income of employees were noted in the city of Tashkent (+32.1%), as well as in Surkhandarya (+27.5%), Tashkent (+27.0%), Samarkand (+24.7%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+22.7%).

The growth rate of income in the past period reached 20.5%, which ensured an increase in the nominal income of the population by 7.9%. In January-December 2021, the share of total income from selfemployment among the population amounted to 37.4 %.

In the total income of the regions, the largest share of income received from self-employment was observed in Jizzakh (56.2%), Bukhara (47.0%), Kashkadarya (44.2%) regions. On the contrary, in the city of Tashkent and the Republic of Karakalpakstan it was below the national average.

With a 1% increase in self-employment income, total volume of total income increases by 0.37%.

The largest share of income from self-employment was noted in Samarkand (10.8%), Tashkent (10.7%) and Kashkadarya (9.5%) regions. The regions with the lowest share are Syrdarya region (2.4%), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (3.6%) and the Navoi region (5.2%).

According to preliminary data, in January-December 2021, the total income from the property of the population amounted to 11.3 trillion soums. In January-December 2021, the share of total property income was 2.2%. The impact of property income on the change in the total volume of aggregate income of the population is insignificant, in the order of 0.6%.

Two-thirds of the property income received in January-December 2021 fell to the share of Tashkent city - 54.8%. The next regions with significant weight are Navoi (13.4%), Tashkent (7.6%) and Fergana (4.4%) regions.

The nominal growth rate of property income, according to preliminary data for January-December 2021 compared to the corresponding period in 2020, amounted to 27.2%. The highest growth rates were noted in Navoi region - 52.6% and the Republic of Karakalpakstan -51.2%.

The share of transfers in the total volume of the total income of the population for the specified period amounted to 26.3%. According to preliminary data for January-December 2021, 37.0% of income from transfers came from income from social transfers, 63.0% of income from other current transfers.

The share of pensions in the total volume of social transfers for January-December 2021 amounted to 77.8%, benefits - 20.4%, scholarships - 1.8%. Compared to the corresponding period of 2020, the growth rate of pensions in the period under review amounted to 15.7%, benefits - 47.9% and scholarships - 13.3%.

In January-December 2021, 10.2 trillion soums of benefits and material assistance were allocated for social support of the population. Of these, 40.5% of insurance benefits were financed by the off-budget Pension Fund, 59.5% were allocated from the funds of the republican and local budgets.

The nominal growth rate of money transfers from abroad, which are part of other current transfers, in January-December 2021 amounted to 41.3%, and their share, compared to the same period in 2020, in the total income of the population increased by 2.0 p.p., the change in income from other current transfers ensured the growth of the nominal value of the total income of the population by 6.0%.

According to preliminary data for January-December 2021, out of the total aggregate income of the population, the share of income received from small businesses amounted to 59.4%.

Thus, in the structure of the total income of the regions, it differs: the highest share was noted in Jizzakh region - 70.9%. The smallest share of income received from small businesses was recorded in the city of Tashkent - 48.6%, the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 53.2%, Navoi region - 56.5%, and also in Fergana region - 58.4%.
