Total aggregate income of the population of Uzbekistan reached 230.9 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, in January-June 2021, the total aggregate income of the population of Uzbekistan reached 230.9 trillion soums, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said. 

In order to exclude the influence of price factors for calculating the real growth rate of household income, the consumer price index (CPI) is used - one of the important types of inflation indicator. Due to the change in consumer prices, the growth rate of the total income of the population, compared to the same period in 2020, in real terms amounted to 110.8%.

In January-June 2021 (for six months), the average per capita nominal total income of the population was higher than the national average value in Tashkent city - 14 127.2 thousand soums, Navoi - 11 122.6 thousand soums, Bukhara - 8 078.7 thousand soums, Tashkent region - 7 373.9 thousand soums and Khorezm region - 6 808.9 thousand soums. 

For January-June 2021 (for six months), the lowest indicator of the average per capita nominal total income of the population was recorded in the Republic of Karakalpakstan – 4 903.2 thousand soums, Namangan – 4 930.4 thousand soums and Ferghana – 5 064.4 thousand soums regions. 

The indicator of real growth of total income per capita for January-June 2021 amounted to 108.7%, the same indicator for January-June 2020 was recorded at the level of 99.5%. 

The highest indicator of real growth rates was recorded in Khorezm - 13.7%, Samarkand - 11.7% and Bukhara - 11.0% regions. 

Real growth rates below the national average were recorded in Tashkent city - 3.7%, as well as in Syrdarya - 4.8%, Surkhandarya - 6.9%, Jizzakh - 7.2%, Andijan - 7.6%, Kashkadarya - 7.7% and Namangan - 7.8% regions.

A significant increase in the total volume of total income of the population is mainly facilitated by significant changes in income from labor activity (income of employees and income from self-employment), which account for 64.9% of total income and 25.4% of income from transfers. 

In the total income of the regions, the largest share of income received from labor activity (income of employees and income from self-employment) was observed in the Navoi region (76.1%). On the contrary, in Samarkand region, the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Khorezm region, the city of Tashkent, Namangan, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya and Ferghana regions, it was below the average republican level.

Income from labor activity (income of employees and income from self-employment) has a significant weight in the structure of the total income of the population. 

According to preliminary data for January-June 2021, the share of income from labor activity in the structure of the total income of the population amounted to 64.9%. 

The nominal growth rate of income in relation to the corresponding period of 2020 reached 120.7% and contributed to an increase in the nominal volume of total income in the order of 13.7%. 

Income from employment consists of the income of employees and from the self-employed population. 

In January-June 2021, the share of the total income of employees among the population was 27.8%. The growth rates of their income in the past period reached 117.2%, which ensured an increase in the nominal income of the population by 5.0%.

The highest nominal growth rates of wage earners' incomes were noted in the city of Tashkent (123.7%), as well as in Navoi (121.1%), Tashkent (119.6%), Khorezm (117.8%) and Samarkand (116.1%) regions. 

In the total income of the regions, the largest share of income received from self-employment was observed in Jizzakh region (51.6%). In contrast, in the city of Tashkent and the Republic of Karakalpakstan, it was below the average republican level. 

With an increase in income from self-employment by 1%, the total volume of total income increases by 0.37%.

The largest share of income from self-employment was noted in Tashkent (11.0%), Samarkand (10.8%) and Kashkadarya (9.5%) regions. The regions with the lowest share are Syrdarya region (2.3%), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (3.0%) and Jizzakh region (4.8%).

Two-thirds of the volume of property income received in January-June 2021 fell to the share of the city of Tashkent - 53.1%. The next regions with significant weight are Navoi (13.9%), Tashkent (7.8%) and Ferghana (5.3%) regions.

The nominal growth rate of income from property, according to preliminary data for January-June 2021 compared to the corresponding period of 2020, amounted to 126.4%. The highest growth rates were noted in the Navoi region - 152.4% and the Republic of Karakalpakstan - 146.4%.

The share of transfers in the total aggregate income of the population for the specified period amounted to 25.4%. 

Social transfers, in turn, include pensions, benefits and scholarships. According to preliminary data for January-June 2021, 40.2% of income from transfers came from income from social transfers, 59.8% of income from other current transfers. Changes over the past period in pensions, allowances and scholarships contributed to the growth of the total aggregate income of the population by 2.0%.

Compared to the corresponding period of 2020, the growth rate of pensions in the period under review amounted to 112.7%, benefits - 153.2%.

The share of pensions in the total volume of social transfers in January- June amounted to 77.6%, benefits - 20.6%, scholar-ships - 1.8%.

In January-June 2021, 4.9 trillion soums of benefits and material assistance were allocated for social support of the population. Of these, the extra-budgetary Pension Fund financed 40.5% of insurance benefits, 59.5% was allocated from the republican and local budgets. 

The nominal growth rates of remittances from abroad, which are part of other current transfers, in January-June 2021 amounted to 146.9%, and their share, compared to the same period in 2020, in the total income of the population increased by 2.5 p.p., the change in income from other current transfers ensured an increase in the nominal value of the total income of the population by 6.0%.

The largest share of remittances in the total income of the population is registered in Samarkand (24.5%), Khorezm (23.8%) regions. 

It was also high in the Andijan (20.2%) region, the Republic of Karakalpakstan (19.3%), Surkhandarya (18.6%), Namangan (17.7%), Kashkadarya (16.8%), Bukhara (16.4%) and Ferghana (15.9%) regions.

According to preliminary data for January-June 2021, of the total comprehensive income of the population, the share of income received from small businesses amounted to 59.5%.

Thus, in the structure of the aggregate income of the regions, it differs: the highest share is noted in Jizzakh region - 68.1%. The smallest share of income received from small business was recorded in the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the city of Tashkent - 50.1%, in Navoi region - 54.4%, as well as in Ferghana region - 59.6%.
