TITF-2014 prepares to opening
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 20th anniversary Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Silk Road” (TITF-2014) will be held in Tashkent on 6-8 October 2014.

The event will include three business events – the 99th session of Executive Council of the UN World Tourism Organization in Samarkand, three-day TITD and specialized business meetings programme “Hosted Buyer”.

The UNWTO session will be attended by the delegations from 30 countries led by the UNWTO General Secretary Taleb Rifai.

The meeting of the UNWTO member-states is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Samarkand declaration of international project “Development of tourism at Great Silk Road”.

Uzbekistan joined to the UNWTO in 1993. The UNWTO office opened in Samarkand in 2004. Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Silk Road” was held for the first time in 1994.

Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Silk Road” became a leading tourism forum in Central Asia, which is organized by Uzbektourism and Advertisement Agency Great Silk Road at the support of the UNWTOs.

The exhibition will be held at UzExpoCenter in Tashkent on6-8 October. The exhibition will be held in three pavilions with total area of 10000 square meters. Local and foreign tourism agencies, hotels and resorts will attend the fair.

It is expected that 300 companies will participate in the fair. Number of visitors will exceed 120,000 people, including professional visitors from abroad.

During three days, Uzbekistan will present all spectrum of tourism services and directions, the organizers said. It is planned to hold promo-campaigns, lotteries, etc.

Folk and dance groups will perform in all three days of the fair. It is also planned to hold festival of national cuisine.

The fair will also present mega-paining “1001” of the painter Lekim Ibragimov, which he created during three years.

Turkey is the partner-country of the TITF. Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Omer Celik will participate in the exhibition. Russia, Singapore and Dominican Republic will participate in the fair for the first time.

The fair will present tourism potential of all regions of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan. The organizers will award in several nominations such as the best tourism opportunity, the best topical division, the best stand of the region, the best presentation of the company, the best presentation of hotel, etc.
