Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The United Kingdom has appointed a new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the country to Uzbekistan.

According to the UK Government, Timothy Smart will become the new British Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan.

The new ambassador is expected to start his mission in Uzbekistan in August 2023. Prior to this appointment, Timothy Smart served as Head of the Eastern Mediterranean Department at the British Foreign Office.

He will replace Timothy Torlot as British Ambassador to Uzbekistan.
