Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tigran Mkrtychev from 2 January 2021 takes over as director of Igor Savitsky State Museum of Arts.
On 11 December 2020, an agreement was signed in Nukus between the Minister of Culture of Karakalpakstan Kalbay Turdiev and Tigran Mkrtychev, who was appointed director of the Museum following an open international competition for the position of director of the Igor Savitsky State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The competition was held in 2019 by the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Arts.
In the role of director, Tigran Mkrtychev initiates the creation of the International Council for the Study of the Collection of the Igor Savitsky State Museum of Arts, as well as the international board of trustees of the museum, which will include prominent artists, politicians and business representatives.
The main priorities in the work of the museum will be: the development of international partnerships, the creation of the museum's endowment capital and fundraising programs.
