Three more Uzbek boxers advance to World Boxing Cup finals
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Three more members of Uzbekistan’s national boxing team have secured their spots in the finals of the World Boxing Cup, currently taking place in Brazil under the auspices of the World Boxing.
In the under-55 kg category, Mirazizbek Mirzakhaliov earned a confident victory over Guatemala’s Jose Felipe.
In the under-80 kg division, Javokhir Ummataliyev defeated Dias Molzhigitov of Kazakhstan.
Meanwhile, in the over-85 kg category, Akmaljon Isroilov delivered a dominant performance against Jakub Straszeski of Poland, winning with a unanimous 5:0 decision.
With these results, Uzbekistan will now be represented by a total of seven boxers in the tournament finals.
Asilbek Jalilov (50 kg) will face Nicky Cummings of France. Fazliddin Erkinboev (75 kg) is set to battle Caue Bellini of Brazil. Akmaljon Isroilov (85 kg) will go up against Daulet Tulemissov from Kazakhstan
Turabek Khabibullaev (90 kg) takes on Isaac Okoh from Great Britain, while Mirazizbek Mirzakhaliov (55 kg) meets Nursultan Altynbek of Kazakhstan. Javokhir Ummataliyev (80 kg) faces Wanderley Pereira of Brazil and Jahongir Zokirov (+90 kg) wraps up the final series with a bout against Delmar Thomas from the United Kingdom
